Charles Madaline (Marriage - 31 DEC 1899)

Denis Tourigney and Miss Madaline Charles were quietly married at the residence of Thomas Hitchcock at Shortville, Clark County, Dec. 31, 1899, Rev. G.W. Luther, the Presbyterian minister, performing the ceremony. Mr. Tourigney secured an order of the county court instead a license from the county clerk, which threw the lynx-eyed news hunters off the track and kept up some guessing until the matter quietly got out last week on the filing of the clergyman's certificate with the register of deeds. Congratulations, though a little late, but nevertheless hearty, have been showered upon Mr. Tourigney from all quarters and have been by him responded to in the usual manner by long custom made and provided. The Rep. And Press offers no apologies for not announcing the marriage earlier, but will off instead its congratulations and best wishes.
