HISTORY OF OTHER AREA SCHOOLS
The first Supt. Of schools was James O'Neill in 1854, embracing the whole of Clark County, then called Pine Valley. In 1874, the school district was formed. The first school report on County records was recorded in 1873. There were 1,718 people between the ages of 4 and 20 with 38 school houses in the County. The Townships were formed in the County in 1868. Most of the school houses were built in the next 20 years and Wild Rose school must have been one of them.

I am curious as to what happened to the Poppe School. My grandmother, Freida Tisdale, attended there and so did my mother, Sharlene Poppe, as well as other Poppes and Tisdales. pj.compton@comcast.net
