Bio: Bibby, Thomas John (1860 - ?)

At the time of the 1900 Federal Census, Thomas and Laura B. (Garfield) Bibby were living in the city of Greenwood, Eaton Township, Clark Co., Wis. They were married 19 Jan 1886, in Pine Valley,​ Clark,​ Wisconsin, 14 years earlier and were the parents of seven children, but only three of them were still living. They were neighbors to a farmer, Edward Fahey, and Julius and Sarah C. Warl and there two sons, Lyman and George.

Thomas was born July of 1860 in the great state of Wisconsin and was 39 yrs. of age. Both of his parents, Richard & Mary (Faulds), were born in Scotland.  At the time of the 1880 Census, they were residents of Galesville, Trempealeau, Wisconsin.

Thomas supported his family by working as a woodsman. Laura B. Bibby was born Oct. 1852, also in the Badger State. Her father was a native of Vermont and her mother began life in Connecticut. Laura was 48 yrs. old, eight years older than Thomas. Both of their living children were born in Wisconsin. Their living daughter, Helen M., was 10 yrs. old, born July, 1889 and she was attending the public school. Their seven year old son, Horace Melvin, was 15 Feb 1893, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Other Bibby family members living nearby were the woodsman and farmer, Peter F. Bibby (b. Nov 1864), presumably a brother to Thomas, and his wife, Esther (b. May 1869 in NY) and a son, Richard L. (b. Jun 1893).

Joshua A. Bibby (b. Apr 1874) and his wife, Lena E. (b. June 1876), their daughter Mabel E. (b. Mar 1897) and a thirty year old brother of Joshua's, James B. (May 1870) who was born in Wis. of parents born in Scotland. Another brother, Andrew F. Bibby (b. Oct. 1871, Wis., parents b. Scotland) who did carpentry work.

This family later moved West and in 1920, were reported to be living in Okanogan, Washington, but by 1930 Thomas was again recorded as a resident of Galesville, Wisconsin.
