Whalen, Thirza (1837? - 25 Jan 1903)

Died, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Laura Turner, corner of Frost and Trade St. in Salem, Ore. Sunday p.m., Jan. 25, 1903, Mrs. Thirza Whalen aged 65 years, of heart failure. Deceased went to Salem last March from Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. and has made her home in this city since that time. She has been in poor health for a number of years, but her last illness was of but two weeks duration. She leaves a family of five children, Mrs. Laura Turner, Mrs. Lucy Brown, Clarence and Chas. Whalen of Salem, and Mrs. Emma Sischo of Neillsville. She also leaves a great many friends both in Neillsville and Salem to mourn her death. (Salem Oregon paper)
