Young, William (30 Apr 1839 - 30 MAR 1904)

Died, at Chicago, Wednesday, March 30th, 1904, Mr. Wm. Young of Chili, Clark County, Wis., aged sixty-five years. Deceased was born in Canada April 30th, 1839. In 1871 he was married to Miss Annie McMahon of his native town. Eleven children were born to bless their union, eight of whom, with the sorrowing widow, still survive him, three having died in infancy. In 1876 he moved with his family near Mt. Pleasant, Mich., where he engaged in the pursuit of farming, becoming one of the early pioneers of Isabella County. He moved to Wisconsin in 1893, where he has since engaged in the hotel business. About seven years ago he was afflicted with smoking cancer on the lip. He underwent four operations for the cure of the cancer, the last of which was performed at Chicago March 29th, resulted in his death.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and children, Frank, George, Bessie, Anna, John and Julius Young of Chili, Mrs. G.W. Hollister of Thorp, and Mrs. L.J. Crago of Eau Claire, also one brother and sister in Canada.

He was a kind and loving father, and an honest citizen and neighbor. He was patient and uncomplaining and bore his great affliction with calmness and fortitude, and being a most devout Christian, he died in the triumph of a living faith.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Church at Neillsville, Saturday afternoon, Rev. Father Hauck officiating.
