Davis, Alta (27 DEC 1888 - 27 Sep 1922)

The funeral of Mrs. Alta Davis was held from the M. E. Church at 2:00 o'clock last Saturday afternoon, and was attended by many sympathizing friends. Rev. A. J. Coram preached the sermon and burial was in the Mentor Cemetery.

Alta Sparkes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Sparkes, was born in Humbird, Clark County, Wis., on Dec. 27, 1888. Here she spent her childhood and school days. After leaving school she went to St. Paul, where she lived until her death, which occurred after along illness, on Sept. 27, 1922, aged 33 years, 9 months. She had united with the Baptist Church. There are left to mourn her death, her husband Frank Davis of St. Paul, two children, Ellen and Willie, her father and mother, and three brothers, Ralph of Kansas City, Henry of St. Paul and Archie of this village.
