Poate, Wm. E. (1850? - Abt. 7 July 1922)

A letter from Mrs. R. B. James of Green Bay to the Press states that her father, Wm. E. Poate, died at St. Mary’s Hospital in that city July 7, apoplexy. Mr. Poate was born in Stratfordshire, England, 72 years ago, and came to this country at the age of seven. Many years ago he came to Neillsville and worked as a tinsmith and plumber in Denis Tourigny’s shop and for himself. He was an excellent workman, an honest and upright citizen and a man who was helpful in every way to the community. He was married in Neillsville to Miss Emma Moulton, who died about eleven months ago. Two years ago they sold their home here and moved to Green Bay. Deceased is survived by two children, a son, Will Poate, of Salt Lake City, and the daughter, Mrs. R. B. James of Green Bay.
