Reishus, Hjordis Pauline (Marriage - 22 June 1922)

Prof. Elwin J. McKean and Miss Hjordis Pauline Reishus were married today, Thursday, June 22, at the home of the bride’s brother, Rev. Lysander T. Reishus at Velva, North Dakota. It is needless to say that the people of Neillsville and other parts of Clark County will be greatly interested in this union. The groom was principal of the Neillsville High School for the past three years and won for himself a high place in the esteem of the people of this city and country around. He formerly taught in Loyal, where his record as a teacher and a young man of high character was equally as good. Prof. McKean is gradually building up a reputation as a school man. He is not spectacular in his methods, but is forceful and progressive and bides fair to stand among the leaders of his profession in the state.

The bride taught history in Neillsville High School the past year. She is a graduate of Stanley High School and Eau Claire Normal School and is a young lady of fine intellectual endowments and refinement of character. As a teacher she was an inspiration to her classes not alone in their school work, but she also had a very fine moral influence on all the young people who came in contact with her.

After August 15th, they will be at home in Tomah, Wisconsin, where Mr. McKean has been elected Supervising Principal of Schools for the coming year.

The Press certainly voices the sentiment of this entire community in wishing them happiness and success in their new home.
