Hazel M. Holub

Hazel M. Holub, age 81, of Neillsville, died Feb. 10, at the Memorial Nursing Home.

Hazel was born in Canada on March 18, 1922, to Levi and Genevieve Fitzmaurice. Hazel married Cpl. Milton W. Muir in 1943 and they had a son, Michael. Her husband was killed in action on April 11, 1945 in Germany. Hazel returned to Humbird with her son Michael, and lived with her parents. Hazel married Ed Holub and she resided in Neillsville for the remainder of her life. She worked at Snitemans Drug Store, IGA, and for Gary Corey of Corey's Jewelry in Neillsville until she retired.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert Fitzmaurice of Augusta, and Richard Fitzmaurice of Cavour, S. Dakota.

She is survived by her sister, Mildred Fitzmaurice; her son Michael (Sherrie) Holub; and two grandchildren, Michael, Jr. and Michelle, of Neillsville.

Services were held Friday, Feb. 13, at the Gesche Funeral Home. Pastor James Mohr officiated. Lunch was served at the United Church of Christ following the service. Hazel was laid to rest at the Mentor Cemetery, Humbird.

Pallbearers were Gary Corey, Bill Fitzmaurice, Bob Fitzmaurice, Denny Fitzmaurice, Jerry LeMere, and Don Wright.
