Granton FFA Has Full Schedule (1981)

The winter officers meeting of the Granton FFA Alumni was held this past week. Membership shows 110 for next year. There are ten new members and 28 lifetime members.

David Tyle, president of the Granton FFA, is the new central Wisconsin state council member. He reported that next winter convention will be held in February 1982 at Green Bay and that the 1983 convention will be in Menomonie.

Members were advised to pick up tickets at Steiner’s Store by February 17 for a county FFA banquet. The event will be held at the American Legion Hall, Loyal, on Thursday, February 26, with Mike Kowleski, past state FFA officer, as speaker.

The county FFA basketball tournament for Alumni chapters will be held in Granton on March 12. Farm institutes will be held in March and feature dairy and fertilizer topics. A fire extinguisher day to refill extinguishers will be held in Granton, April 1.

The Granton FFA Alumni will present an all-school assembly during FFA Week and feature a program by the Richie Yurkovich orchestra. The FFA Alumni will buy trophies for the outstanding FFA Green Hand and Chapter Farmer at the spring awards program. It was suggested to get prices on a plaque to list all lifetime members.
