Alice Hubbard was born March 15, 1859, in Cameron County, Pennsylvania and came to Neillsville with her parents when she was about four years of age. She grew to womanhood here and in 1880 was married to Adelbert Cornwell. They lived here a few years and then went west to Billings, Montana, her husband being in the employ of the Northern Pacific Railroad. During the years of her residence there, she occasionally visited relatives and friends here and kept in touch with her girlhood friends. She was greatly esteemed by all who knew her and among those who will grieve greatly to learn of her death are those of Neillsville and vicinity who knew her in earl life.

Her husband passed away eleven years ago; for a time she lived in St. Paul and two years ago she moved to Los Angeles, where she died on Nov. 23, 1925.

She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Steichen and one granddaughter, Mrs. Jack Finnergan, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Smith, all of Los Angeles. She leaves also two brothers, Richard Hubbard of Hayward and Edward Hubbard of Neillsville. Her body was brought here from Los Angeles accompanied by her daughter. The funeral was held in the M. E. Church last week Wednesday, Rev. Lambright officiating. The daughter, Mrs. Steichen of Los Angeles and Charles Hubbard of Minneapolis, a nephew, attend the funeral.
