Burgess, Frank (10 APR 1858 - 14 Dec 1927)

Frank Burgess, who for many years made his home in Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., passed away Wednesday morning at Tony, Wis. At the time of his demise he was at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred W. Scott.

The body was removed to Neillsville Saturday morning, when it was taken to the Morris Home on Tenth St.

Mr. Burgess was born on April 10, 1858, at Hingham, Wis. He was united in marriage to Rosa M. Head on Dec. 12, 1882. To this union were born two children, Mr. N. W. Burgess of Morris, Ill., and Mrs. Fred Scott of Tony, Wis.

Those who attended the funeral from away, in addition to the two surviving children, were Mrs. N. W. Burgess and daughter, Rosemary Burgess, Mr. Fred Scott and daughter, Laurel Allison Scott, besides several local relatives and friends. Another grandchild, Helen Jean Scott, was unable to attend.

Mr. Burgess was an uncle of blanche and Lynn Morris, both of Neillsville. He was also a cousin of Mrs. George Lloyd of this city.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the Morris home, rev. C. A. Rawson officiating.

Frank Burgess lived an active and varied life, devoting the major part of his efforts to the business of logging. He departed Neillsville in the year 1897, moving to the community now known as Tony, Wis.

Those who knew Frank Burgess will remember him as a person of strong, determined character. All of his old friends and the many friends of his surviving relatives extend sympathy to those who mourn his departure from life, especially to the children in the loss of a good father and a true friend.
