Hillert, Eugenia Anna (11 August 1887 - 13 December 1972)

Funeral services for Mrs. Eugenia Anna Hillert, 85, of Memorial Home, who died December 13, were held December 16 from Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Richard Eggen officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hillert, the former Eugenia Mueller, was born August 11, 1887, in Russia and came to the United States with her parents in 1900. Her marriage to August Hillert took place April 6, 1916, in the Town of Fremont. She lived and farmed in the Town of Grant until about eight years ago when she entered Memorial Home. Mr. Hillert died April 8, 1951. Mrs, Hillert was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a son, Martin Hillert of Granton; two daughters, Mrs. Ewald (Ida) Hinkelmann of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Henry (Lydia) Hemersbach of Waukegan, Ill.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Gus Mueller of Tacoma, Wash., and John Mueller of Sacramento, Calif.

Pallbearers were Arno Winter, Alfred Moldenhauer, Oscar Krause, Emil Schlinsog, Leonard Thiede and Melvin Garbisch. “Peace, Perfect Peace” and “Softly and tenderly” were sung by the congregation. Mrs. Lee Garbisch was the organist.
