Eggiman, Barbara (12 Oct. 1875 - 27 Jan. 1926)

Mrs. Fred Eggiman of South Pine Valley died Wednesday morning, Jan. 27, as the result of taking Lysol, a poisonous disinfectant. Her nearest friends are at a loss to account for her rash act, although she had at times been in despondent moods, which of late became still more apparent. She was a woman of kind heart, and had many friends who mourn her death.

Mrs. Barbara Eggiman, nee Brunner, was born Oct. 12th, 1875, in the canton of Saint Gall (St. Gallen) Switzerland, and died on Jan. 27th, at 4:10 a.m. at the age of 50 years, 3 months and 15 days.

She married Mr. Fred Eggiman on Jan. 14th, 1899. This union was blessed with five children, Raymond, Sylvia, Walter, Wilbert, and Helen, four of whom and their father are still living. Wilbert met his death by accident several years ago. Other survivors are Ernie Knoble and Edith Plumer, children of her first marriage; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Wuetrich and Mrs. Bertha Marti and a brother, Joseph Brunner, and also a niece, Mrs. Lena Kaeser all of Brodhead, Wisconsin. Four other sisters and her aged father lived in Switzerland.

Obsequies began at the home on Jan. 30th at 1 p.m., Rev. Caleb Hauser officiating, and were continued at the Reformed Church at 2:15 p.m. A choir of young ladies sang two favorite hymns. A large number of Humbird families, paid a last tribute of respect by attending the services. Interment at the Neillsville Cemetery.
