THORP -- Albert Kodl, 69, Thorp, died Wednesday night at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

Services will be Saturday at St. Hedwig's Chapel, Thorp. The Rev. John Puerner will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the Thorp Funeral Home, Thorp.

He was born January 4, 1914 in Jackson, Minnesota, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Stella Szpala) Kodl Sr. He married May Czech June 27, 1942 in Thorp. They farmed in the Town of Thorp for the past 39 years.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, Ronald, Richard, Ray, Frank, Kenny and Robert, all of Thorp; two daughters, Vickie Looker and Mary Ann Lew, both of Withee; 15 grandchildren; three brothers, Emil of Stanley, Jerry of Wausau and Joe of Thorp; and one sister, Helen Jasinek of Thorp.
