News: Woodmen Carnival 1900
Transcriber: Laurel Bragstad Schaub>

You don’t want to say much to the Woodmen about their carnival. They were simply soaked. The elements seemed to have no consideration for all the plans and hopes that had been brewing for weeks. But the weather was so stormy and the ground so muddy that it seemed the only thing to do to postpone the event indefinitely. Word was telegraphed around the country Monday to head off further preparations and disappointment the next day. Yet in spite of weather and rain Tuesday there was a goodly number who came in to take in the picnic. Gleaner 9-29-1900
