Raether, Rosetta J. (22 Mar 1855 - 17 Augl 1928)

Mrs. Frank Raether, for many years a resident of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. and the town of Levis, passed away at the home of her son, Scott Raether, in Levis, Friday, Aug. 17, 1928, aged 73 years, 5 months and 26 days. Death came to her suddenly as she sat sewing.

Rosetta Jane Monroe was born March 22, 1855, in Allegheny Co., N.Y., and came to Waushara Co., Wis. with her parents when she was about 3 years old. In 1876 the family moved to Clark County, where she was married to Frank Raether. Mr. Raether died May 4, 1924.

Mrs. Raether was a woman of great kindness of heart, a loving and faithful wife and mother and a kind neighbor. She was called upon a great deal in cases of sickness, to such an extent that she became an excellent practical nurse and as long as she was able was called upon far and near for help in case of sickness.

She leaves one son, Scott Raether. One daughter, Winnie, wife of Wm. Horton of Levis, died Oct. 21, 1899. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Rosellin Maxon of St. Paul; 3 sisters preceded her in death. She leaves 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon in Neillsville, brief services at Lowe's Funeral Home and formal services and sermon at the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Charles A. Rawson officiating.
