Adelia M. Friske

Adelia M. Friske, age 85, of Greenwood, died at her home on Tuesday, April 20.

Adelia Marguerite Wells was born on Sept. 7, 1918, in Greenwood, the daughter of Adelbert and Elsie (Dux) Wells. She was raised on the family farm, near Greenwood, and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1936. After completing her education, she moved to Milwaukee where she worked as a housekeeper and babysitter. On June 1, 1940, AdelIa was united in marriage to Norbert Friske at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Loyal. She farmed with her husband, southeast of Greenwood, her entire life. Her husband, Norbert, died Dn Jan. 9, 1991. Adelia continued to reside on the farm until the time of her death.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, and the "Come and Know" Homemakers.

She is survived by two sons, Bernard Friske and David (Peggy) Friske, both of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Kim (Tim) Gehrke, of Phillips; Kelly (Jeff) Miller, of Stevens Point; Kyle Friske, of Eau Claire; four great-grandchildren, Aaron and Seth Gehrke, and Megan and David Miller; one sister, Marguerite Friske, of Whitehall; and two brothers, Donald (Kathryn) Wells, of Greenwood, and Burt (Jeanne) Wells, of Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Norbert.

Funeral services were held April 24, at Our Savior's Lutheran' Church in Greenwood. Rev. Terri Blomberg officiated and burial followed in the Greenwood City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Kyle Friske, Tim Gehrke, Jeff Miller, Dennis Wendt, Marty Nigon and John Lindner.

AdelIa M. Friske, 85, Greenwood, died tuesday, April 20, 2004, at her home. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., April 23, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 24, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood.
