Esther L. Potz, 74, Spencer, died on Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at the House of the Dove, Marshfield, after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Hansen-Vaughn Chapel, Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield until 11 a.m. funeral service at the chapel. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel wii officiate. Entombment will be in Hillside Cemetery mausoleum.

Esther Wydeven was born on Feb. 17, 1928, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Henry and Lucille [nee Heisler] Wydeven, She worked on the home farm until she married Walter Potz on Aug. 25, 1945, in Stratford. She was a full-time mother and homemaker when her children were young, and later worked for Saint Joseph’s Hospital and as a volunteer at Marshfield Nursing Home.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Potz, Spencer; one son, David [Sandee] Potz, Henderson, Nev.; one daughter, Lonna Sydorowitz; and four grandchildren, Dustin, Mitch and Mindy Sydorowitz and Cody Potz.

Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
