Ripkie, Leona (8 JUN 1929)

Mr. Alvin Jacob and Miss Leona Ripkie were united in marriage at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, June 8, 1929, at St. John's Lutheran Parsonage, Rev. Wm. Bauman officiating. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jacob. Mr. Jacob, the groom's brother, acting as groomsman, and Mrs. Jacob, who is the bride's sister, as matron of honor; Miss Marjorie Bohn and Miss Mabel Ripkie of Hillsboro, cousins of the bride, were bridesmaids; a younger cousin, Dorothy Bohn, was flower girl. The bride was attired in a gown of white satin crepe with lace and carried a large bouquet of tinted roses, lilies of the valley and white larkspur. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of carnations and snowballs. Mrs. Paul Jacob wore a gown of blue flat crepe, Miss Bohn and Miss Mabel Ripkie wearing blue and orchid flowered georgette. The flower girl was dressed in white. The groom and groomsman each wore suits of blue serge.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jacob of the town of Weston, Clark County, Wis. He has lived all his life on the farm, and is a steady industrious young man. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ripkie, also of the town of Weston. The greater part of her life she has spent at home, except the past three winters, which she spent in Milwaukee. She is a young lady of exceptionally fine personality, pleasing in manner and well qualified by home training for her duties of the household.

The young couple will live for the present at the home of the groom's parents, and he will continue to assist in the farm management.

The Press extends congratulations and best wishes.
