Phillips, Mary E. (7 Dec 1854 - 10 May 1923)

Mary Elizabeth Courter was born at Plymouth, Wis., on Dec. 7, 1854, and died at her home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on May 10, 1923, after a lingering illness of several years, aged 69 years, 5 months and 3 days. Her early life was spent at Plymouth and on July 7, 1872, she was united in marriage to W. R. Phillips, who preceded her in death some eighteen years ago. Deceased was a charter member of the local Relief Corps. Three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Babbit of Cadott, Mrs. Laura Babbit of Boyd, and Mrs. Walter Larson of this village survive, three other children, Edwin, Frank and Ella having died many years ago. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon last from the M. E. Church, Rev. F. G. Elwick officiating, interment following in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
