Pingel, Minnie E. (28 Dec 1896 - 12 Apr 1926)

Minnie E. Pingel passed away at the Chippewa Falls Hospital, Monday, April 12, 1926, at the age of 29 years, 3 months and 15 days. Her death followed an operation for congestion of the bowels and other complications. She had been a patient sufferer for the last five years, during the time having four operations, the last one proving fatal.

The deceased was the youngest daughter of Wm. and Ernestine Pingel, born in the town of Longwood, Clark County, Wis., Dec. 28, 1896. She attended the public school and was a graduate of the Owen High School and Medford Training School. She had also attended the summer sessions at Stevens Point and Superior Normals whenever her health permitted.

For the past nine years she was engaged in teaching school and at the time of her death was teaching the primary room at the Goff school for the fourth year.

She was a kind and loving daughter, and through her sunny disposition and loving ways she gained a host of friends.

She was a devoted Christian, being a life-long member of the Reformed Lutheran Church. She had charge of Sunday School work for several years and for the past two summers had taught the Parochial school at Braun Settlement.

Her death is not only a loss to the sorrowing family and relatives but also to the host of children who she had instructed these many years. She had been their inspiration and their guide. It was to her they could go with their many little troubles and be sure of sympathy.

She leaves to mourn her death a sorrowing mother, a twin sister, Martha, who teaches at Melvina, Wis., two other sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Hardy of Tomahawk, Mrs. Otto Beckman, who lives near Thorp, and one brother Wm. at home. Her father preceded her in death five years ago.

The funeral services were held at the family home Monday afternoon, services conducted in English and German by the Home Pastor, assisted by Rev. Friesen of Greenwood.
