Violet M. Lincoln

Violet Lincoln, age 86, passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph s Hospital in Marshfield.

Violet May Lincoln was born on May 21, 1917 in Cary, Ill., the daughter of Edward and Alice (Marston) Felgenhauer. Violet spent her childhood in Chicago and moved with her family to a farm in McHenry County, Ill. when she was 16 years old. She worked on the family farm until she met Albert Lincoln. They were united in marriage on April 25, 1936 on her parents farm. Albert and Violet moved to Neillsville in 1948 and farmed until 1982. During that time Violet received the Evangelical Teacher Training Association Certificate and taught Sunday School for many years while raising her family. She was a member of the Cannonville Ladies Aid and the Washburn Homemakers. Violet enjoyed embroidery, knitting and all of her special cats.

Violet is survived by her husband, Albert, her children; Charles Lincoln of Moses Lake, Wash., Jean Lincoln of Hopkins, Minn., Loraine Lincoln, of Minneapolis, Minn., Jerry (Kathy) Lincoln of Mount Joy, Penn., and Norma (fiance L.C. Allen) Lincoln of Hopkins, Minn. Sbe is also surVived by nine grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Vera M. Tanem, and a sister, Ruth Zimmerman.

Funeral services for Violet were held Monday, Feb. 23, at the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Neillsville. Pastor Ralph Schram officiated. Providing music was Connie Schram, organist and David Skiff, soloist. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Ed Kuhn, Rick Kuhn, Steve Lincoln, Adam Nantais, Brian Tanem, and Joel Tanem.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Violet's family with the funeral arrangements.
