Plan Services Friday for Fred Warns Sr.

A Requiem Mass will be said at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, at 9:30 tomorrow morning for Fred Warns Sr., one of the pioneer residents of the Clark community. He passed away Tuesday at a hospital at Neenah, Wis., following a stroke. He was 93 years, two months, and three days of age. Father H.L. Crubel will officiate at tomorrow's rites with burial to be made at Riverside cemetery.

The deceased was born January 10, 1869 in Germany and received his education there. At the age of 17, he came to the United States and was married in Milwaukee in 1888 to the former Katherine Dieringer, who passed away in December of 1953. In 1905 the couple moved to the Clark community in Taylor county where they farmed until retirement in 1944. However they continued to live on their farm until shortly after her death when he left the Clark area. During these many years his voice was heard on civic and political matters as he served for more than 20 years on the Taylor county board of supervisors, served for many years as a school board member and a charter member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Withee, until its merger with the Holy Rosary parish here.

He is survived by four sons, Fred Warns Jr., Stanley; John Warns, Chippewa Falls; William Warns, Owen; and Joseph Warns, Menasha; two daughters, Mrs. Ann Malchow, Menasha and Mrs. Albert (Elizabeth) Antolik, Chicago; 15 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
