Noeldner, Donald F. (23 JUL 1940 - 31 JUL 2004)

Donald F. Noeldner, 64, Greenwood, died at his home on Saturday, July 31, 2004, surrounded by his loving family. Following a 10 a.m. visitation, funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. The Rev. Mark Schwinn will officiate. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery.

Donald Francis Noeldner was born July 23, 1940, in the town of York, Clark County, to Herman and Lucille [nee Goetz] Noeldner. He was raised and educated in Loyal, graduating from Loyal High School in 1958. After his schooling, he worked for his father at Noeldner Construction. He married Barbara Wehrman on Oct. 12, 1963, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. He continued to work at Noeldner Construction until 1966, at which time he went to work at Speich Tractor, Greenwood. In 1969, he bought the Mobile Oil gas route from Mike Podobnik, which he owned and operated for 20 years. In 19889 he sold the gas route and went to work for the city of Greenwood. He stopped working in October of 2003, due to ill health, and retired in April 2004. His interests included being with his grandchildren and bowling, in his younger years. He was a member of Immanuel Church of Christ, a former assistant fire chief for the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Department, and a former member of the Clark County Male Chorus.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Barbara Noeldner, Greenwood; four children, Susan [Jim] Herdrich, Peggy Noeldner, Kim [Lee] Bredlau, and Steve Noeldner, all of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Herdrich, Jana Herdrich, Rachael Herdrich, Renee Herdrich, Booker Bredlau, Cooper Bredlau, and Fletcher Bredlau; four brothers, Nathan [June] Noeldner, Loyal, Ed [Kris] Noeldner, Mazomanie, Gordon Noeldner, Loyal, and Randy [Karen] Noeldner, Eau Claire; and two sisters, Eleanor [Harry] Johnson, Greenwood, and Brenda [Al] Noah, Greenwood.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and one grandson, Tucker Bredlau.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
