Jaskot, John (23 DEC 1880 - 21 Augl 1929)

Mr. John Jaskot, residing on his farm four mile east and one-half mile north of this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.), was injured in some unaccountable manner on Wednesday morning, Aug. 21st, 1929, which resulted in his death. At the time of the accident he was engaged in cutting second crop clover in his field with a mowing machine and team. He was found about eleven o'clock lying unconscious on the ground, the team standing nearby. Assistance was hurried to the scene at once and hee was taken to St. Joseph's hospital at Chippewa Falls, where he died the same evening without regaining consciousness. Spinal injuries and internal hemorrhage was found to be the immediate cause of death.

Deceased was born in Poland on Dec. 23, 1880 and came to this country when twenty-eight years of age. At the age of twenty-three he was united in marriage to Miss Sophia Oljarz and for a time they resided at Donora, Pa., and came to Thorp in 1911, where they have since made their home.

Deceased served the town of Withee as chairman of the town board the past two and a half years and was also manager of the Lombard Dairy Co. He was a man who had filled the various relations of life as son, husband, father, brother, friend and filled them well.

He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his wife, three sons, Stanley, Joseph and Leonard, and seven daughters, Anna, Marie, Helen, Stella, Martha, Eleanor and Adelyne, also two brothers, Joseph Jaskot of the town of Reseburg and George Jaskot of Allentown, Pa.

The funeral took place from St. Hedwig's Church on Saturday morning last, Father F. A. Kulig officiating, interment following the services in the Pozen Cemetery. The pallbearers were George Zukowski, John Zukowski, Peter Zukowski, John Sumiec, Thomas Slupski and Tony Sobelewski.
