Wehling, Wilhelmine (29 JUN 1856 - 24 NOV 1924)

Mrs. John Wehling, an old and respected resident of Loyal, Clark County, Wis., was called to her final resting place early Monday morning, Nov. 24, 1924. Heart failure being the cause of her death. Mrs. Wehling had not been in the best of health for several months, but her sudden death came as a shock to all.

Wilhelmine Dahn was born in Golm, Mecklenburg, Germany, June 29, 1856; the only daughter of Carl and Frederica Dahn. She received her early education in the parochial schools in Germany.

She was married Jan. 13, 1876 in Kublank, to John Wehling.

They came to America with her parents in 1881, settling at Mayville, Wis., where they lived for about two years, then moved to the town of Loyal, settling on a farm which they labored faithfully on and improved, near Spokeville.

Her husband preceded her in death twelve years ago. Mrs. Wehling moved to this village four years ago, where she resided until the time of her death.

She was an active member of the Lutheran Church, being baptized and confirmed in that faith in early childhood.

Mrs. Wehling was highly esteemed in the community in which she lived. She was a loyal wife and a most devoted mother, and gained the respect and good will of all with whom she came in contact.

She leaves to mourn her loss, one daughter, Mrs. Frank Luchterhand, four sons: Robert, Charley, Frank and Albert, all of Loyal, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She attained the age of 68 years, 4 months and 25 days.

Funeral services were held at her home at the farm at 1:00 o'clock and at the Lutheran Church at 2:00, Rev. Pohlman and Rev. Eske conducting the services. Interment was made in the Loyal Cemetery.
