Roehl, Sophia (19 JUL 1854 - 28 May 1925)

The community was saddened Thursday evening, May 28, 1925, when the news came that Mrs. Roehl had passed away. She had not been well for some time but was seriously ill but one day.

Sophia Roehl, nee Albrecht, was born in Germany, July 19, 1854. She came to Dane Co., Wis. when a child with her parents.

On July 5, 1875 she was married to Christian Roehl at London, Wis., where they lived until the fall of 1901, when they moved to Loyal, Clark County, Wis.

To this union eight children were born, three of whom, and the husband, have preceded her in death.

Short services were held at her home in the village Saturday morning. She was taken to Fort Atkinson to the home of her daughter, Anna, where on Monday a short service was held and then tot he Church at London, the former home of the Roehl family, where the funeral was held. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Kroghville Cemetery.

She is survived by five children, Mrs. anna Harnack of Fort Atkinson, Otto of Greenwood, Louis of Ithaca, N.Y., Mrs. Lizzie Litturno of Fond du Lac and Ed of Wenatchee, Washington, also ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Roehl was of a home loving nature, devoted to her home and family. She was a lvoing wife and mother and a kind neighbor and will be greatly missed by all who came in contact with her.
