Wallmuth, Christ (1846* - 5* Oct. 1931) * Could be off.

Christ Wallmuth, 84 years old, who lived with his son, Fred, on a farm a mile north of Hatfield, died suddenly Monday night of a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Wallmuth, who came to America in 1873, having married Miss Sofia Spanholtz, and settled in Elgin, Ill., four children being born to this union. Mrs. Wallmuth died about 50 years ago and Mr. Wallmuth later married Mrs. Louise Thiese at Elgin, one son, Fred being born to them. Mrs. Wallmuth has been living in recent years with a daughter at Elgin.

Thirty years ago Mr. Wallmuth came to Clark County and purchased a 200 acre farm near Hatfield. A few years ago Mr. Wallmuth gave up farming.

Last spring Mr. Wallmuth wandered away from home late one afternoon and got lost. A large number of men from Neillsville searched Hatfield country for him with success. About 3 a.m. the next morning he appeared at the W. L. Murphy farm near Dells Dam, apparently unharmed by his experience.

The funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Schiller Funeral Home, Rev. Wm. A. Baumann officiating. The body was taken to Elgin for burial.
