Landgraf, John (8 Jan. 1856 - 10 Feb. 1932)

John Landgraf, for nearly fifty years a resident of Neillsville, passed away at his home on Clay street Wednesday, February 10.

Mr. Landgraf was born in Sheboygan, Wis., Jan. 8, 1856. He grew to manhood there and in March, 1883, came to Neillsville, which has cine been his home. Soon after his arrival here the electric-light plant was built and he took charge as engineer continuing this work until about 1892. He then became engineer at the furniture factory, later returning to the employ of the electric light plant. when the condensery was that plant, a position he retained until his final illness.

Mr. Landgraf was a man of most worthy and dependable character, faithful in the performance of every duty. His industry and efficiency as a workman, and his uprightness as a citizen, made him admired by all who knew him. He was a good neighbor and a kind and loving husband and father.

Mr. Landgraf was married in Neillsville April 10, 1884, to Miss Mary Elizabeth Morgan, who survives him. Three children were born to them, Leon, who passed away Dec. 4, 1918; Leroy of Neillsville , and Lesa, Mrs. W. E. Weast, of Greenwood. He leaves also four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Lowe’s funeral home, Mrs. Wm. Huntley reading the Christian Science service.

The pall bearers were H. L. Brown, Arthur Carl, Dr. M. L. Claflin, Harry Albright, Chas. Seif and John Palmer.
