Mary Reel

COLBY, WIS. - Mary Reel, 86, of Colby, Wisconsin, died Dec. 7, 2004, at River Hills Nursing Home in Pewaukee.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Church of Christ in Colby.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Maurina Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mary Reel

COLBY -Mary Berneita Reel, 86, formerly of Colby, Wisconsin, died peacefully in her chair at River Hills West Health Center, Pewaukee, on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday Dec. 11, 2004, at First United Church of Christ, Colby. Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery, town of Colby, Clark County. Pallbearers will be Michael Reel, Keith Uhlig, Jim Mumper, Shelby Walker, Matt Reel, and Brian Holtebeck.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.

Maurina-Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary was born May 19, 1918, on a farm near Marshfield to Joseph and Mary (Deeringer) Stini. Mary and Roland Reel were married April 18, 1942. He died June 14, 1999. Mary and her husband, Roland, farmed in the Colby area for 41 years, from 1942 to 1983 when they retired. They continued to live on their farm near Cherokee and grow large gardens until they were almost 80. Mary raised her family on the farm, fed the calves, and picked wonderful strawberries for many years. When Roland died in 1999, she moved to the Waukesha area to live near her children for five more years. She was a member of First United Church of Christ.

Mary is survived by her children, Nancy (Delbert) Uhlig of Colby, Berdine (James) Mumper of Oconomowoc, Ronald (Janice) Reel of Waukesha, Donald (Christine) Reel of Waukesha and James (Shirley) Reel of Wausau; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Norbert Stini of Pittsville, Gilbert Stini of Marshfield, Anna (Norbert) Merkes of Edgar, Margaret Donnerbauer of Marshfield, Clarence (Agnes) Stini of Marshfield, Loretta Laumer of San Bernadino, Calif., Lucinda (Clarence) Kopp of Stratford, Helen (Oliver) Schueller of Athens and Anton Stini of Neillsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland; one son, Jerome; one grandchild; two brothers, Joe Stini and Michael Stini; and three sisters, Mildred Mannigel, Florence Werner and Marcella Bargender.

Memorials can be given to First United Church of Christ, Colby.
