Greaser, George Fost (13 April 1909 - 6 Jan. 2005)

DORCHESTER -George Fost Greaser, 95, Dorchester, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester. Burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Maurina Funeral Home, Dorchester, with a parish rosary service at 7:30 p.m.

George was born April 13, 1909, in Pennsylvania to George and Edna (Kean) Greaser. George and Violet Skerbeck were married April 19, 1939, in Dorchester and she preceded him in death. He worked for Skerbeck Amusement until 1951 and then owned Greaser Amusement Company, operating carnivals in northern and central Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula until 1957. He operated roller rinks in Abbotsford and Antigo during the winter months. He then owned and operated Dorchester Pole Yard until 1977. George was the fire chief in Dorchester for a number of years.

George is survived by his daughter, Beverly (Lawrence) Smith, Dorchester; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ross (Nelda) Greaser, Arbor Vita.
