National PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the United States today. A not-for-profit association of parents, educators, students and other concerned community members, PTA is a leader in reminding our nation of our obligation to children.

The organization's mission is not only to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, community and governmental bodies who make decisions affecting children, but to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children. PTA also strives to increase parent and public involvement in the nation's public schools.

Although Thorp's PTA is still in its infancy, it's officers and other members are already established as a group in Thorp working towards the best interests of our children. The national organization's anniversary is February 17, when the National PTA marks its 105th year. Pictured are the Thorp PTA's current officers: JoAnn Pawlak, Vice-President; Lisa Redfern, President; Amy Brunsvold, Secretary; and Marilyn Jaskot, Treasurer.
