Reinhard Zimmerman had the misfortune to lose a horse this week.

Mrs. Beede died at the home of her son Irwin, near Merrillan, Wednesday evening, after a long illness.

Work has been recived here of the death of Mrs. H. J. Stedman, formerly Mrs. Jennie Cole, of Alma Center, at Bellingham, Wash.

John Bryner has been suffering with a bad case of rheumatism in his right arm, and is taking an enforced vacation from his farm duties.

Miss Hattie McElhouse, of Arlington Heights, Ill., has been a guest of Mrs. C. Branstedter the past week. She was a resident of Humbird about twenty-five years ago.

Orin Wilson, Jr., went to Stevens Point the first of the week in an endeavor to secure a position as telephone man on the Soo road. We understand he has bee successful and will soon be assigned a position.
