Last Rites Held for Aged Reseburg Resident

Anna Stigen was born in Gulbrandalen, Norway, September 8, 1856 and passed away at her home in the town of Reseburg Friday morning, March 18,1938, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 10 days, after an illness which confined her to bed for a period of 14 months.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At an early age she immigrated to America, coming to Black River Falls and later employed at Eau Claire and Ashland.

On September 8, 1886, she was united in marriage to Andrew Myrin at Ashland, Wisc., who preceded her in death January 16, 1937. The year after their marriage they settled on a wild piece of land in the town of Reseburg where, by many hardships, they built up a beautiful home where she resided until her death. They observed their golden wedding anniversary on Sept. 8, 1936.

She leaves to mourn, five children, Nels and Charles at home, Melvin of Antigo; Mrs. Hubert (Anna) Horn and Mrs. Theo. (Emma) Braun, both of Greenwood; also six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Griebenow Funeral Home at Owen, Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Midtlein officiating. Interment was made at the Riverside Cemetery. Pall bearers were three sons, Nels, Charlie and Melvin, one nephew, Frank Stigen, and two son-in-laws, Hubert Horn and Theodore Braun. Those who carried the flowers were Romilda, Gertrude and Ina Baehr and Shirley Braun.
