Lang, A. D. (? - 25 OCT 1926)

A message was received here Tuesday morning stating that A. D. Lang had passed away on the preceding evening at Milwaukee. He had suffered with cancer of the stomach for more than a year, so death came as a sweet relief and he was glad to go, although he had said he would have liked to live a few more years to carry on his charity work among the poor and orphans. He will surely be missed for by his deeds of good to the poor and orphans he was known loved and he felt rich in their esteem. These are riches that can be taken with one when they pass into the next world.

Mr. Lang is a brother of Joe and John Lang and Mrs. John Goessl, and many may remember him as he visited here (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.) lots of times.

He lived in Milwaukee about 35 years and for 25 years he operated a restaurant on West Water St., when his wife died and he sold out and stayed at home with his children at 26 Vine St. He was always a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and after he sold his business, he devoted his entire time to the charity work mentioned above.

About four years ago he went with his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Masterson, to Virginia, Minn. There he built a beautiful bungalow which he gave her. Last spring he spent some weeks in a hospital at Hibbing, and from there he was taken on a cot to his sister's home, Mrs. Krohne, at Milwaukee, who cared for him to the end.

He was laid to rest yesterday from St. Michael's Church, of which he was a faithful member, and as such will be missed and mourned. He leaves three children, Bessie (Mrs. Masterson), Walter of Racine, and Martin of Milwaukee.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lang and daughter, Mrs. Herman Fritsche, went to Milwaukee for the funeral.
