Ray Hanes of Loyal, was the guest of Loren Snyder Saturday and Sunday. Dan Davidson of Granton, was our midst last Friday. John Corzett and several others have been blue berrying the past week. Mesdames I. And S. Fulwiler, G. Rowe, and F. Fink were the guests of Mrs. J. Counsell at Pleasant Ridge last Wednesday. WE should think that such thrifty burgs as Granton, Lynn, Spokeville, Loyal, Greenwood, Humbird and Chili could favor use with a communication every week, as we would like to hear from our neighbors. Willie White of Loyal was in our midst a few days last week. Mrs. C.D. Stockwell exercised her bicycle on our streets last Thursday. Cut worms and chinch bugs are destroying the oats and barley. Bert Lawrence and Levi Fulwiler were on the sick list the past week. A minister from elsewhere occupied the pulpit in the Redmond Church last Sunday. Pleasant Ridge claims the best corn in Clark County, but they can't beat our rye. F.L. Snyder went to Shortville Friday on Business. El Gergen has accepted a position at Thorps. Mrs. J.L. Davison returned to her home at Minocqua last week. She was accompanied by Mr. Peck. S.D. Gibson shipped a load of cheese last Saturday. We don't know who is responsible for the error in our items last week in regard to our speaking of Al Turner's house. It was inserted barn instead of house, and Mr. Turner feels pretty blue to think we would speak of his new house as a barn. However, if we made the mistake we beg his pardon. T.B. Philpott and wife of Loyal, were in this village Sunday. Rev. Hoffman conducted baptismal services in the M.E. Church Sunday. We thought that we said enough two weeks ago to stop the mouth of that monkey who writes for the Times, but he howled again and called us a baby calf, and three weeks ago a Jay and wished he had a back alley to keep us in. We don't need such a large space to keep him in as an ordinary kennel would hold such a little whiffet as he. If we wanted to buck a correspondent we would do it with news and not foolishness. Now MR. Sunflower, we wish you would state your reasons for pitching onto us while you are deeper in the mire yourself. All invited to the ice cream social to be held at the Redmond Church tomorrow night. The Good Templars will have open installation and an ice cream supper on August the 4th. All are invited. Mrs. E. Grabe has a nephew from Merrillan visiting her.
