Since threshing machines have stared up farmers begin to realize that the crops are better than expected. Mrs. G.W. Fulwiler and son Willie, of Marshfield, were the guests of I. Fulwiler and wife the past week. Geo. Huntley and wife visited with friends and relatives at Greenwood last week. A new windmill was put up on Mr. Ebbe's farm recently. It was purchased from Mr. Leason of Neillsville. Frank and Albion Snyder are the champion bicycle riders of York. Hattie Lindsley had the misfortune to cut her hand quite badly one day last week. A certain young man in this vicinity talks so much about a rattlesnake show which he wants to exhibit that we wish he would either put up or shut up. E.M. Rowe and family of Granton, visited at this place last week. Our genial blacksmith, Les Mack, has accepted a position as feeder on the Demming & Corzett machine. George Rowe and Bill Waddy mad a business trip to Lynn Thursday. Fulwiler, the famous bicycle rider, sports his wheels on our streets. Remember that the Epworth League meets every Sunday evening. All are cordially invited. Fred Benedict has a very pleasant countenance lately, and we are just inquisitive enough to ask why. Potatoes are only half a crop her. How are potatoes in Day Bro. Dido? Ed Billings of Pleasant Ridge, and Charley Gillman of Neillsville, were here last Thursday. They are interested in a photograph outfit. A pleasant surprise was given to John Ebbe and wife last Friday evening and an enjoyable time is reported. Mrs. Hi Windover and Mrs. Huff went to Sheboygan County last week. Mrs. Huff has received $2000 back pension and $12 per month. We stated last week that Cy Stockwell didn't eat enough ice cream at the Good Templars' supper, but we have since learned that he has been sick since from eating too much. The Pleasant Ridge correspondent of the Times congratulates York on a starch factory. The writer is very familiar with York surroundings and firmly believes the report to be without truth or foundation. G.S. Rowe, W.C. Fulwiler, Perry and Willie Campbell drove to Withee last Saturday. Wanted - A steady shower of rain for 48 hours. A race took place between Norman Shafer and two bicycle riders Friday last. Shafer coming out ahead. Frank Snyder opened his school at Shortville Monday. Ono Pease of Tomah, called on her grandparents the past week. The Good Templars Lodge is in a flourishing condition. Last Saturday night sides were chosen and Effie Gibson and Jennie Rowe were appointed captains. A lively time is expected. Farmers are busy plowing for winter wheat. A gentleman from Illinois bought cattle here the past week. Mrs. E. Bagley's niece from Whitehall, is visiting here. Mrs. Lizzie Rowe is reported on the sick list. A.P. Fulwiler and H.F. Gibson drove to the Redmond Church Sunday to listen to Rev. Foster. Amos Fulwiler transacted business at Marshfield the first of the week.
