ELGIN - Arthur A. Cizek, 90, of Elgin and formerly of Palatine, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.

He was born Nov. 15, 1914, in Withee, Wis.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Capenters and Joiners of American Local 1539 for more than 50 years. He retired in 1984. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include a son, Charles A. (Barbara) Cizek of Elgin; a granddaughter, Julie (Brett) Bullamore of Johnsburg; a grandson, Jason A. (Ashley) Cizek of Sanford, Fla.; a great-granddaughter, Hailey Elizabeth Bullamore; a sister, Esther (the late Earl) Rhea of Canadian, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Cizek, on June 30, 2004; and two sisters, Rose Lueth and Frieda North.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the funeral home. His grandson, Jason A. Cizek, will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeling Township Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
