Cook, Zanza (22 DEC 1894 - 21 FEB 1979)
NEILLSVILLE--Services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday at Gesche Funeral Home for Mrs. Zanza Cook, 84, of 408 Oak St., Neillsville. She died Wednesday at her home.
The Rev. Gary L. Clark, pastor of United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery. Easter Star services will be at 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
The former Zanza Cardarelle was born Dec. 22, 1894 in the Neillsville area. She attended Hillcrest School. She was married to Chester Cook Dec. 31, 1914 at Neillsville. The couple lived in Milwaukee several years.
She and her husband managed restaurants in railroad depots and bus terminals 36 years, living in 37 states during that time. After the death of her husband in 1967, she lived in Madison, returning to Neillsville in 1970.
Mrs. Cook was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Carmi Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star, and White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 18, Clinton Ill.
A brother, Louis Cardarelle, West Bend, survives. Besides her husband she was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers.
