Horesovsky, Milada A. (26 Jul 1911 - 14 Feb 2003)

Milada Anna Horesovsky, age 91, of Neillsville, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Milada Horesovsky was born July 26, 1911, in Dresden, Germany. She was the daughter of Jan Josef and Ruzena (Motysova) Vonka. She attended and graduated from primary, secondary, and post-secondary schools in Germany. She moved to Czechoslovakia and worked as a teacher and translator prior to her marriage to Bohumil Rudolf (Robert Rudolph) Horesovsky, who worked for the Czech Foreign Ministry in the diplomatic corps.

She arrived in the United States on November 11, 1947 with their sons Bohumil Rudolf Miroslav (Robert Rudolph) and Jan Josef. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years in 1990, and by their son Jan in 1958. Also preceding Milada in death were her parents, Jan Josef and Ruzena (Motysova) Vonka, in Czechoslovakia.

Surviving is their son, Robert Rudolph (Martha Louise) of Lake City, FL, and three grandchildren: Melissa (Daniel) Hartley of Jacksonville, FL, Robert Richard of Crested Butte, CO, and Angela Evans (fiancée Tim Anger of Jacksonville, FL) of Kissimmee, FL. Three great-grandchildren also survive: Julian Evans, Emily Hartley and Caroline Hartley.

Milada was a lifelong naturist with a special love for birds and many other animals. She was known in the community for her mushroom expertise. She also loved the Wisconsin forests, moraines and autumn leaves, whose changes each year provided, in her words, a beautiful "colorama".

Funeral services for Milada will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Music selections will feature Antonin Dvorak’s "Going Home", a movement of "From The New World". Interment will be in the Hatfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10-11 a.m., Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home.

The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Horesovsky’s family with arrangements.
