Lange, Harold G. (15 Sep 1930 - 3 Sep 1993)

Harold G. Lange, 62, Thorp, Clark County, Wis., died at 3:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 1993 at St. Joseph’s Hospital House of the Dove hospice home, where he had resided the past two months.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1993 at First Baptist Church, Medford. The Rev. Don Esterline and the Rev. Carl Grothkob co-officiated. Burial was in Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Pallbearers were Church Westaby, Mike Kryzanski, Gordon Schmidt, Bob Herman, Jack Goodman and Don Ertl. Honorary pallbearers were: Wally Welgos and Bill Valk.

He was born Sept. 15, 1930, in the town of Chelsea, to Gust E. and Florence E. (Leischer) Lange. He attended Medford area schools.

He married Gloria Swensen Jan. 9, 1956, in South Carolina. They later divorced. In Nov. 1972, he married Florence Brandner, and they were later divorced.

He entered the U. S. Marine Corps in 1948 at the age of 17. He served tours of duty in Greece, Japan, Korea, and two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the military service in 1970, holding the rank of gunnery sergeant. He then worked as a bulk milk route hauler in Taylor, Clark, Chippewa and Marathon Counties for the following 20 years. For the past 1 years, he has resided in Thorp.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. David (Robin) Gorman of Marshfield and Mrs. Gary (Gayle) Glenzer of Medford; two sons, Mark of Auburn, CA, and Todd of Medford; three sisters, Mrs. Del (LaVerne) Fischer of New Berlin, Mrs. Donald (Jeneane) Lange of Lake Port, CA, and Mrs. Betty LaPage of Owen; four brothers, Marvin of Milwaukee, Kenneth of Corona, CA, Robert of Medford, and Wayne of Arvada, CO.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Memorial May be given in Mr. Lange’s name to St. Joseph’s Hospital House of the Dove Hospice Home in Marshfield.
