Blaisdell, W. F. (4 Mar 1850 - 18 Jan 1929)

(Loyal Tribune)

Mr. W. F. Blaisdell died at his home in the village (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.) Friday evening after only a few days illness with pneumonia.

Mr. Blaisdell was born in the state of New York, March 4, 1850. He was married April 30, 1872 to Miss Mary Duffy and shortly afterwards came to Wisconsin, settling on a farm near Dorchester. In 1883 the family came to Spencer where Mr. Blaisdell engaged in the draying business. In the Spencer fire of 1886 their home was destroyed and they rebuilt on the same site. Besides the widow he is survived by two sons, Eugene of Rockford, Ill., Guy of Eau Claire, and two daughters, Mrs. Ada Graves, Long Beach, Cal., and Mrs. Donna Bodle, Spencer. Mr. Blaisdell was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and a charter member of the Spencer camp of Modern Woodmen. At the time of his passing he was the oldest member of the camp.

Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon, Rev. L. L. Litchfield officiating, with interment in Spencer Cemetery. The family has lost a kind husband and father and the community one of its most highly respected citizens. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the family.
