Coop, Ellen (21 JUN 1869 - 21 OCT 1930)

Mrs., Ellen Coop, nee Sitts, was born on June 21, 1869 in the town of Loyal, Clark county and died Oct. 21, 1930 after a lingering illness. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sitts, pioneers of this vicinity who came from Dodge county in 1864 and settled in what is now known as Dodgeville. The deceased spent most of her life in Loyal and vicinity. She was married on March 21, 1893 to Edgar E. Coon who preceded her in death nearly four years ago, Feb. 18, 1927.

She leaves to mourn her loss one loving brother and four sisters, who are: Charles Sitts, Bloomington, Wis., Mrs. Clara Arndt, Selfridge, N. Dak. Mrs. Flora Drape, Loyal; Mrs. Anna Huber, Titonka, Iowa; and Mrs. Edna Cone, Greenwood, who were all able to be present at the funeral. The deceased was quiet and unassuming, a kind neighbor and leaves behind a host of friends.

Funeral services were held last Thursday, Oct. 23, at 1:30 P. M. at the Methodist Church, of which she a member, Rev. V. C. Kegley officiating. She was laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

The bereaved relatives have the condolences of the Tribune among their many friends.
