Earl J. Meissner, 77, Marshfield, Town of Rock, died Wednesday evening at Neillsville Memorial Hospital where he was admitted Tuesday night. Services will be held Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Nasonville. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

He was born March 18, 1905 in the Town of Rock, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. (Ida Schmidt) Meissner, and received his education there. As a young man he lived in Milwaukee where he was a barber and later was in the garment industry. He and Arlene Ott were married June 17, 1939 in Nasonville. He then moved back to the Nasonville area to farm and was self-employed as a brick mason. In 1964 he retired from farming and moved to his present home, continuing his masonry.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Rogene) Rogers of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Gary (Audrey) Bursell of Janesville, Mrs. Theodore (Cheryl) Haack of Wausau and Mrs. James (Donna) Miles of Mercer Island, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Emil (Alma) Ott, Marshfield.

He was predeceased by his parents and five brothers.
