Burkhalter, Marvin L. (9 April 1929 - 20 May 2005)

SPARTA - Marvin L. Burkhalter, 76, of Sparta passed away Friday, May 20, 2005, at his home in the town of Angelo.

Memorial services will be at noon Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born April 9, 1929, in the town of Greenfield, Monroe County, to Emil and Frieda (Kortbein) Burkhalter. He had been employed by American Motors in Kenosha for more than 10 years and then for Nelson Filter company as a punch press operator and machinist in Neillsville, retiring in 1990.

He is survived by his special friend, Donna Niebuhr; three daughters, Mavis Burkhalter and Sarah Vollmer, both of Neillsville, and Jacqueline (Marvin) Schoenherr, Granton; three sons, Harry Burkhalter, Neillsville, Leslie Burkhalter, Spencer, and Gene (Kathleen) Burkhalter, West Salem; a brother, Kenneth (Judy) Burkhalter, West Bend; and six grandchildren.
