Rasmussen, Sophie (12 Dec 1885)

Married, at the residence of H. P. Rasmussen, on Saturday, the 12th inst., by D. R. Freeman, Esq., Mr. Louis Johnson of Unity, Wis., and Miss Sophie Rasmussen of Colby, Wis.

The above couple is too well known to our readers to need any encomiums from us, suffice to say the Phonograph wishes them long life and happiness, as do all who know them. Saturday evening a number of the friends of the couple met with them at the warehouse of N. P. Peterson, (Which had recently fixed up in nice shape), and helped celebrate the affair. Music, dancing and fun were the principle features of the evening, and there was plenty of each. Refreshments were served during the evening, both liquid and solid. Addresses were made by Messrs. Peterson, Morris, Freeman and Sorenson. Those who attended say they never enjoyed themselves more in their lives. Prof. Winninger furnished music for the occasion. One of the fine features of the evening was the singing by Louis and his brother Adolph, in their mother tongue. It was as fine a song and as well rendered as any we ever heard.
