Warns, Alma ‘Dolly’ Sina (26 March 1924 - 10 March 1996)

Alma "Dolly" Sina Warns, Neillsville, formerly of the Owen-Withee, died at her residence in the Town of Pine Valley on Sunday, March 10, 1996, at 11:40 p.m.

Funeral services will be Wenesday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholis Church in Owen. Father Joseph Henseler, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, will officiate. Music was provided by organist Dorothy Rabska, soloist Ramona Weiler and Holy Rosary Adult Choir under the direction of Phil Greschner. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Withee.

The former Dolly Krarup was born March 26, 1924, in the Town of Longwood, Withee, the daughter of Peter and Marie (Jensen) Krarup. She was a graduate of Owen High School in 1942 and before her marriage was employed at Master Package Corporation in Owen.

Dolly and John "Jack" Warns were united in marriage on Nov. 25, 1950 in Owen. Their family lived in Withee from 1953to 1978 and then moved to Appleton. Jack and Dolly lived in Neillsville since 1988. She was a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and served as circle chairman. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at the time of her death.

A homemaker, Dolly was an avid gardener and was noted for her beautiful hand sewn quilts. While in the Owen-Withee area, she was a den mother for the cub scouts and belonged to the Withee Homemaker’s Club.

She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband, Jack Warns of Neillsville, 5 sons; John (Mary) Warns of St. Paul, Mn.; Peter (Patricia) Warns of Apple Valley, Mn.; Michael Warns of St. Paul, Richard (Kathy) Warns of Omro, Dennis (Dawn) Warns of Greenville; 2 daughters, Patricia (Jim) Eloranta of Owen and Elaine (George) Lorenz of Black Creek; 2 sisters, Helga Pickett of Sumpter, S. C. and Pearl (Richard) Hanson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother Harold Krarup in 1991 and infant twin sisters in 1925.

Pallbearers were: Gene Merterns, Rick Eloranta, Gay Christophersen, Les Buss, Melvin Koplitz and Harry Bruckschlager.

Maurina Funeral Home of Owen assisted the family with arrangements.

Surviving are her husband, Jack Warns, of Neillsville; five sons, John (Mary) Warns and Michael Warns, all of St. Paul, Minn., Peter (Patricia) Warns of Apple Valley, Minn., Richard (Kathy) Warns of Omro and Dennis (Dawn) Warns of Greenville; two daughters, Patricia (Jim) Eloranta of Owen and Elaine (George) Lorenz of Black Creek; two sisters, Helga Pickett of Sumpter, S.C., and Pearl (Richard) Hanson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
