Wright, Melvina (24 Feb 1856 - 31 Jul 1916)

Mrs. Melvina Wright died suddenly Sunday morning at the home of her brother, A.B. Marsh. She passed away while taking a bath in the early morning. She had not been in strong health for some time, but lately had been somewhat better.

Mrs. Wright, who was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Marsh, was born in Pennsylvania, Feb. 24, 1856. When she was about a year old her parents moved to Wisconsin and settled at old Maple Works near Granton, Clark County, where she has lived ever since.

She was married to John J. Wright in 1876. Mr. Wright died about four years ago. Mrs. Wright continued to make her home at Granton, but since her husband’s death has made frequent visits at the home of her brothers, last year spending some time at San Diego with her brother, S.M. Marsh. She was a woman of beautiful character, quiet in manner, a lover of her home and family and a real gentlewoman.

She leaves four children: Roy Marsh, of Rhinelander; Blanche, Mrs. Will Huff, of Western Canada; Vernon, at Camp Douglas and Bessie, Mrs. Chas. Osgood, of Granton. One daughter is deceased.

She leaves four brothers: Joseph Marsh of Marshfield; A.B. Marsh of Neillsville; Vet and S.M. Marsh, in California. Being an only sister, she had a large place in their affections, and her death has brought to them deep mourning.

The funeral was held at Granton Tuesday, Rev. H.A. Coram officiating.
