Raymond, Alice A. (7 NOV 1860 - 5 Apr 1915)

Alice Amelia Mott, wife of A.P. Raymond, died April 5, 1915, at her home in this city.

Deceased was born in Pierrepont, St. Lawrence Co., N.Y., Nov. 7, 1860. She was married to Mr. Raymond Sept. 1st , 1877. Two years later she became a member of the Presbyterian Church of Potsdam, N.Y. Her membership remained with that church the remainder of her life. In 1892 Mr. Raymond moved with his family to Illinois, where they resided for seven years.

In 1899 the family moved to this city (Greenwood, Clark County, Wis.) and have resided her since, where they have been highly esteemed citizens.

Mrs. Raymond was the mother of seven children, four of who are still living and three of who were in attendance at the funeral of their beloved mother.

Mrs. Raymond leaves to mourn her sudden departure, a devoted husband, three sons: W.S. of Aberdeen, Wash.; Clinton A. of Auburn, N.Y.; Ward A. at school in Chicago and Mrs. S.D. St. John of Owen, Wis. She also leaves her aged mother, four brothers and one sister residing in Auburn, N.Y.

Deceased was very highly respected, a motherly, home loving woman and was loved by all. She had planned to visit her daughter at Owen the day after Easter, but at one o’clock Monday she was taken ill, about four o’clock that morning passed from this life into the great and glorious beyond to see and be with God. So sudden and unexpected was the departure that many found it hard to believe or realize when the sad news was reported.

Mrs. Raymond was a helpful worker in the Baptist Society during her residence here and was highly respected by all.

The funeral was largely attended and services conducted at the home by Rev. S.E. Sweet and Rev. S. Dunlop, pastor of the Baptist Church. Many beautiful flowers added much to the decorations and the choir rendered excellent music appropriate to the occasion. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
